‘Vishaka Ukku Andhrula Hakku’ was one slogan that reverberated across entire Andhra Pradesh, including Telangana during the 60s and 70s. Even in Telangana, people sacrificed their life during this agitation and slowly one by one hurdle is being cleared for its divestment and privatization.
It is the sentiment of Andhra Pradesh and its pride. Now that the central government is firm on this move, BRS chief KCR while admitting Andhra leaders into the party fold has boldly stated that they would fight against the privatization moves of this massive steel plant, which is the identity of Visakhapatnam.
KCR stated that they will try to stall and in case BJP succeeds in its sale, if BRS comes to power they will ensure that its status quo is restored. This is an emotive issue and KCR is usually stubborn when it comes to massive promises. KCR may be a great hope for the people of AP if and when BRS gets strong and many Telugus feel the Telangana CM, a man of words can be trusted.
