The only seat that JSP won in 2019 election was Razole and this MLA Rapaka Vara Prasad also left the party and moved with YSR Congress. Naturally, the expectation for JSP would be to possibly win this constituency but this appears to be too far from reality.
YSRCP candidate G. Surya Rao, who previously won from Razole as a TDP candidate in 2014, boasts strong grassroots connections in the segment. He receives positive feedback from constituents and has garnered sympathy for his past election loss. Surya Rao is known for promptly addressing local issues and appeals to both rural and urban voters.
Former IAS officer Deva Varaprasad as the JSP candidate for 2024 brings hope, given his commendable reputation for charity work in the segment. However, as a first-time contender in this segment, Varaprasad faces challenges, notably the lack of strong connections.
In the end, the tide is clearly in favor of the YSR Congress outfit and it is projected that an easy win on the cards for the local candidate Surya Rao.
