The Chittoor assembly segment is one of the talked-about constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. Much like the previous years, this year's campaign is also turning out to be very interesting with the two contestants - YCP's VijayaNanda Reddy and TDP's Gurujala Jagan Mohan taking on each other.
Bothe VNR and GJM are first time contestants but have deeper roots in their respective parties for the last few years. While VNR is coming in as a replacement of YCP's sitting MLA Arani Srinivasulu, GJM is coming into TDP after the party disappeared without a trace in the 2019 election.
Coming to the local leadership strengths, GJM has the support of two fundamentally strong local leaders - CK Babu and Arani Srinivasulu himself. After leaving YCP, Srinivasulu pledged support to TDP candidate GJM.
Both Jagan Mohan and Vijay are actively working on the rural vote banks of TDP and YCP respectively. It will be the first win either of their careers no matter who wins.
With both these candidates being financially deep pocketed, the electoral roll in Chittoor assembly segment could be a super costly affair and there is a lot at stake for the same. We have to see which of them emerges victorious in the clash.
