YS Jagan Mohan Reddy won the 2024 election by a landslide margin in 2019 as YCP won 151 MLA seats. But that is a thing in the past as the state is heading for election in a month from now.
In the context of the coming election, there is an interesting theory that Jagan can become the CM again by just winning just 65 MLA seats. For those wondering how, here is a the story.
Incidentally, the JSP-BJP outfits have been announced 30 MLA seats in the coming election. In the worst case scenario, YCP would be winning at least 25 MLA seats in these 30 seats. The fact that JSP and BJP haven't even announced the candidates for the 30 MLA seats shows the lack of basic electoral infrastructure that they suffer from.
In this case, YCP, with its extremely strong electioneering can easily win 25 of the 30 seats that are allotted to BJP and JSP, if not more.
The magic figure for the formation of the government is 88 seats so if Jagan wins another 63 seats apart from the 25 as mentioned above, the road is clear for him. On top of that Jagan is already likely to win 40-45 MLA seats in the Rayalaseema segment so his road to the CM chair again is fairly straightforward.
