TDP MP Galla Jaydev managed to narrowly win the Guntur Lok Sabha seat in 2019 as he won by less than 5000 votes majority then. Ever since, he has been blowing hot and cold.
Now, Galla has decided to end his political career for the time being as he announced that he is no longer a part of the TDP ecosystem and is moving away from politics for the time being.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision to not contest in the upcoming 2024 general elections. I will be taking a break from politics to focus on diversifying the business which is at a crucial stage of leading the world in the transition to a more sustainable future.
I will however continue to serve and contribute to the country's growth as that is my guiding factor, both personally and professionally. I thank the people of Guntur for their love, affection and wholehearted trust over these years. I hope to come back stronger and represent them and their interests in a more impactful way, he said.
With his departure, TDP is without a candidate in Guntur district with their trusted Rayapati family also quitting TDP recently. It has to be seen how Chandra Babu will deal with this situation now.
