21 MLAs to resign for TDP?

Telugu Desam Party is said to be assessing a strange way of expressing their dissent over the arrest of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and the latest developments are suggesting the same.

Apparently, TDP is planning to go for a united show of strength in the assembly. Apparently, TDP is planning to get all of its MLAs to resign their posts in the coming assembly session on 21 September.

TDP on its own has 19 MLAs on its side with the likes of Vallabhaneni Vamsi and Vasupally Ganesh openly siding with YCP. There is no way these people will resign for CBN now.

And on the other hand, YCP's Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy have joined TDP's ranks. They will certainly resign for CBN's cause.

All in all, the numbers game is such that a total of 21 TDP MLAs will submit their resignation against the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. The idea is to create a scene in the assembly by this resignations.

But there are a few humiliating points here. For starters, CBN's son Lokesh himself hasn't won as an MLA. Him orchestrating the resignation of the MLAs would look comical now. Even if they resign, there will be no reelections in the near future as the state is heading for election campaign in a few months.

And even in case the reelections are held, winning them against a master electioneering planner like Jagan is near impossible. So if TDP ends up winning seats in the reelection, the humiliation will be too much to handle. All in all, Jagan has left TDP leader sweating even over protesting against CBN's arrest.
