The Income Tax department has served showcase notices to Chandrababu Naidu asking for an explanation from him about the Rs 118 crores unaccounted money that he had in his accounts.
It is primarily established that the IT department found that Chandrababu got the amount from infrastructure films through bogus and unsolicited means.
Chandrababu was served 153C notices and he now has to respond to the Income Tax department about the unaccounted money in his account, which the enforcement department believes is a kickback from multiple infrastructure firms.
The amount was apparently deposited in CBN's accounts between 2020-21 through sub-contractor films and Naidu now has to explain himself to the IT department.
This comes as a rude shock to CBN just before the election as cases and notices like these will paint a bad image for him in the public.
