Andhra Pradesh will be going to polls in less than 9 months from now and the stage is being prepared for the same now. The leading political parties have started to devise the plans for the electioneering already.
Coming to the topic, the Central Election Commission has now passed a new order in the pretext of the coming election. They’ve ordered to cross check every deleted vote in Andhra Pradesh now.
To ensure purity of the electoral roll Election Commission is very particular about the procedures adopted during the process of preparation and maintenance of the Electoral Roll and the correctness of outcome of the process of addition, deletion or modification of the names in the roll.
During the review of the District Election Officers/Collectors by the Senior Officers of the Election Commission on 2nd and 3rd August, 2023 in Visakhapatnam it was instructed that all the deletions which have been done from 6.01.2022 till date should be reverified to check whether all such deletions have been made following due procedure or not to re-confirm the sanctity and purity of the electoral roll.
With just over 9 months to go for the polls, the decision to recheck the deleted votes comes as a major development.
YCP has already claimed that they have nothing to fear and are welcoming the decision from the CEC.
