Who is going to fight against Balakrishna? Hindupur constituency happens to be the stronghold of TDP since 1983. Till now, the party did not lose the constituency. TDP founder, former CM NTR won from Hindupur in 85,89 and 94. After his death, his son Harikrishna won from Hindupur. CC.Ramudu won in 99 and even in 2004 and 2004, Ranganayakulu and Abdhul won from the constituency. Balakrishna won from Hindupur fin 2014 and 2019.
In the midst of all this, speculation is on as to who will take on Balakrishna from YSRCP. Sources reveal that YSRCP may nominate a new candidate against Balakrishna. Md.Iqbal and Naveen Nischal lost the elections and till recently Iqbal has been the YSRCP in charge. The party changed him and made Deepika as in charge.
Deepika has been the senior leader and she also has the blessings of Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy. Iqbal planned to contest the elections next year but Deepika with the blessings of Minister Ramachandra Reddy became in charge of the constituency. Iqbal is facing opposition in his own party and Naveen Nischal's aides and later Chouluru Ramakrisna Reddy aides are opposing him. The question is can Deepika win against Balakrishna and break the Hindupur bastion?
