Sharmila to enter into lion's den. Congress party is trying its best to revive its fortunes in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Following the unilateral bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh, the people of AP held Congress for their woes and decided to wipe it out from their region.
However, with Modi's BJP, Chandra Babu's TDP and Jagan's YSRCP failing to get the special status to the state, Congress is planning to cash in to it. Already Rahul Gandhi made clear that if the Congress is voted to power in 2024 elections, no matter whether it comes to power or not in AP, it will accord special status to the state.
In its bid, it is trying to rope in YSRTP chief Sharmila into its fold. Due to various reasons, Sharmila parted ways with Jagan and is concentrating on Telangana. However, Congress is keen to utilize her services in Andhra Pradesh. It is also asking Sharmila to lead the party in AP.
Sharmila however is unable to decide as after parting ways with her brother Jagan, she concentrated on Telangana. Buzz is if everything goes well, one need not be surprised if Sharmila enters the lion's den Pulivendula and contest to the assembly from the constituency. Sharmila in all possibility will merge her party in Congress on 8 July 2023 on YSR birth anniversary.
