Ramayapatnam Port work on fullswing.AP government headed by CM Jagan is known for its developmental programs and initiatives that put the state on the world map. It is known that AP government decided to develop the Ramayapatnam port in two phases.

The first phase will have a capacity to handle 24.91 million tonnes of cargo per year. The second phase will add 113.63 million tonne capacity. The environment clearance was recently received for the project.

Spl CS Karikal Valaven speaking to scribes shared that the port provides direct employment to 23,000 people and indirect employment for 50,000 and 75 percent of posts in industries would be reserved for the local people. According to the latest, it is coming out that the Ramayapatnam port work is in full swing.

The anticipated cost of the first phase is Rs. 3736 crore. With a 25 million tonne cargo handling capacity, it is projected to include four berths, including a coal terminal, two container berths, and one multipurpose berth. The first phase will be completed by December 2023. With an investment of Rs 6904 crore, phase 2 will increase the cargo handling capacity by 113.63 million tonnes, bringing the total capacity from 19 berths to 138.54 million tonnes annually.
