Rahul Gandhi during Bharat Jodo Yatra made it clear that even if AP people vote it to power in state or not, his party if it comes to power at the center will accord special category status to the state. Apart from it, Congress plans to give importance to AP. It is known that four Rajya Sabha seats are falling vacant in Karnataka. Congress high command is planning to give one of these seats to a candidate from Andhra Pradesh, as part of its strategy to strengthen the party in AP.
It has to be seen whether Special Status will make people vote for Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
