Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh was represented by the late leader Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu for over three decades. As his successor, Rammohan Naidu has made a name for himself in a short period of time. He has won two terms as an MP from Srikakulam and has been praised by leaders of all political parties for his speeches in Parliament.

However, he is facing tough competition in the upcoming elections. Rammohan had planned to contest for the MLA seat from Narsannapet, but the party leadership did not give him the green signal. Instead, Chandrababu Naidu is considering making his uncle Achchennaidu a minister if the party wins, by giving him the Tekkali seat.

In the long term, Rammohan Naidu is expected to be a part of the youth team of the TDP led by Lokesh by 2029, and is planning to contest for the assembly and become a minister. However, there is a possibility of tough competition for his MP seat this time, with YCP preparing a strategy to defeat him.

The YCP is fielding former Union Minister Killi Kriparani as their candidate for the MP seat, hoping to win with the same sentiment that helped her defeat Errannaidu in 2009. It is said that the TDP will have a tough time winning the Srikakulam MP seat this time, and it would be a miracle if Rammohan Naidu scores a hat-trick.  Overall, it remains to be seen whether Kinjarapu's successor will taste his first defeat or not in the upcoming elections.
