There have been discussions about an alliance between the TDP and Janasena parties. However, reports suggest that talks are still ongoing about seat-sharing, which needs to be clarified before any official alliance can be formed.

The elections are only a year away, and both parties need to ensure a smooth vote transfer. Nevertheless, the TDP seems to be preparing to contest alone and may not be accommodating of Janasena's political ambitions. Recently, there were rumors of Kanna Lakshminarayana joining Janasena, but TDP quickly took him into their party. Similarly, efforts were made to bring Vangaveeti Radha into TDP, and it seems that he may have agreed to stick with the party after being called to a Padayatra site by Lokesh.

With Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena increasingly taking an openly Casteist tone, sources say that Lokesh is not keen on an alliance and he even said in his padayathra recently that it is not right to assume that there will be an alliance with Jana Sena.

With grand ambitions and a bit of over confidence, the Kapu community is reportedly distancing itself from BC's, Minorities and other sections of the society. Nara Lokesh and his team are of the view that in the hunt to get Kapu votes, TDP may lose crucial BC votes to YSRCP. Already many BC's have switched to Jagan and if even the rest goes to YSRCP, then chances are high that TDP may lose miserably. Moreover, they feel that unless Pawan is made CM candidate, even Kapus may not be keen to vote for him. Hence, there is a talk that the alliance may not happen eventually.
