The Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu gave away Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian Awards, to Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai in the city of San Francisco.
Marking the 73rd Republic Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs declared that Sundar Pichai will be conferred with Padma Bhushan. The Google CEO has earlier said that he feels fortunate to be brought up in a family that cherished learning and knowledge, while his parents sacrificed a lot to ensure he received the best opportunities.
Mr. Pichai thanked Ambassador Mr Sandhu and Consul General Prasad for awarding him the Padma Bhushan. He also expressed his deep gratitude to the government of India as well as the people of India for the immense honour. Here’s one more NRI success story that is also quite inspirational.
