BJP promises half a litre milk every day for free!

The BJP has been accused by the Congress of promoting Amul milk in Karnataka ahead of the Assembly elections in the State. The Grand Old Party is in support of promoting Karnataka's state brand, Nandini milk.

With its rival trying to project the ruling party as antithetical to the interests of Kannadigas, the saffron party has now attempted to smash Congress' 'milk politics' by promising the distribution of half a litre of Nandini milk every day to all BPL families in the State for free.

The headline-grabbing manifesto promise, it is believed, will put a check on the Opposition's game plan.

The BJP has also promised Uniform Civil Code but not before the formation of a committee. Among its other flagship manifesto promises are the distribution of three free gas cylinders, the approval of a million housing sites, and free health check-up for senior citizens, among others.
