Karnataka elections are now a hot topic across the nation. More so, this is a prestigious election for the party, as its win or loss there may help predict its future in the coming elections in other states.

The party leaders are touring vigorously and announcing schemes, etc., to seek public attention.

Amit Shah is in Karnataka’s Yadgir, and his public meeting attracted thousands of people.

It seems like the BJP is trying to grab the public’s attention by focusing on water issues there.

Speaking at the public meeting there, Amit Shah said, "The Mahadayi River dispute had been pending for decades. Congress didn't try to resolve it. In 1980, there were police firing at protestors under the Congress government. It was our government that finally settled the issue, ensuring justice and respect for all."

He also said that the Congress has been the adversary of Kannadigas whenever they've sought their rights in the Mahadayi River dispute.

"In 1980, it was the Congress Karnataka government's inability and insensitivity that led to the deaths of protesters in police firing and violence," he asserted.

He also reminded me of the speech Sonia Gandhi made in Goa, saying that the Congress party will not allow the diversion of Mahadayi water to Karnataka.

"For decades, the Congress played politics on the issue. Finally, it was the BJP that resolved the long-standing issue of Mahadayi. Besides, the Double Engine Sarkar has allocated Rs. 1,000 crore for the Kalasa-Banduri project."

He is confident that BJP is set to sweep the entire state on May 10th.
