The contest for the most powerful Prime Ministerial candidate for the forthcoming 2024 general election has already begun, and a recent poll has shed light on the current scenario. According to the survey, Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister, is leading the race with an impressive 64% of the votes in his favor.
Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, received a paltry 13%, whereas Nitish Kumar and KCR secured 6% and 5% of the votes, respectively. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, emerged as a significant challenger with 12% of the votes. It is noteworthy that Kejriwal, despite having zero Lok Sabha seats, is giving tough competition to Rahul Gandhi, who hails from India's oldest political party, the Indian National Congress.
This fact highlights the current political position of Rahul Gandhi and the unfavorable situation for the Congress party, which is struggling with internal strife, leadership crisis, and a weak political agenda. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by Narendra Modi, has consistently expanded its influence over the Indian electorate.
In conclusion, the poll results clearly indicate that Narendra Modi remains the strongest Prime Ministerial candidate for the upcoming 2024 general election. Although Arvind Kejriwal is rapidly gaining ground, he is still far behind Narendra Modi. The Congress party needs to address its current issues to have any chance of competing with the BJP.
