A grand statue unveiling ceremony for the legendary N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) was held today in Yagnanarayanapuram, a village in Kalluru Mandal, under the Sathupalli constituency of Khammam District. The event was graced by Nandamuri Ramakrishna, son of NTR, and Sri T.D. Janardhan, Chairman of the NTR Literature Committee and Politburo Member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), who jointly unveiled the statue.
The ceremony saw the participation of prominent TDP leaders including Kurapati Venkateswarlu, Dr. Vasireddy Ramanatham, Ketineni Harish, Sriyas Srinivas, Mandalapu Sudhakar, Potu Saraswati, Ranjith, Naveen Chandra, and other state, district, and Mandal-level TDP leaders.
Leaders Highlight NTR's Enduring Legacy
Dr. Vasireddy Ramanatham, a TDP leader, expressed his joy at the successful event: "It is a pleasure that the statue unveiling of NTR Annagaru happened so grandly here in our Yagnanarayanapuram today. Knowing that Ramakrishna Garu was coming for the NTR statue inauguration, children and elders alike came to participate in this program. I joined the TDP when Annagaru founded the party and have continued ever since. The people here are requesting our TDP leaders to visit our area at least three days a month."
T.D. Janardhan, Chairman of the NTR Literature Committee and TDP Politburo Member, spoke about NTR's lasting impact: "Yagnanarayanapuram is a small village. The fact that so many people gathered in such a small village for NTR Garu's statue unveiling shows the immense love people have for Annagaru. It has been 30 years since he passed away, yet people have not forgotten him. We cannot imagine another leader like NTR. For generations to come, he will be remembered as a leader of the people in their hearts. He brought many welfare schemes for the public good in politics. The fact that current leaders follow those schemes is a testament to NTR's vision. We extend our gratitude to the TDP leaders of Yagnanarayanapuram and Khammam district for organizing NTR Garu's statue unveiling program so grandly. We are celebrating NTR Garu's centenary and now his 75th film golden jubilee across various countries worldwide. We have also made literature about NTR Garu accessible to the public. Annagaru's history is something that generations need to know. Just like in Andhra, a coalition government will come to power in Telangana next."

I extend my gratitude to the many people who participated in this event despite the heat. The TDP leaders of Khammam district and Yagnanarayanapuram leaders organized this event very grandly. NTR, who created history in the film industry, brought a new turn to Telugu politics. Even as an actor, during natural calamities and the India-Pakistan war, he collected donations and handed them over to the people and the armed forces welfare fund. NTR was a great personality who proclaimed that the entire Telugu race is one, transcending regional boundaries. We should all move forward with his ideals and inspiration."
