Karthi, Arvind Swami's 'Sathyam Sundaram' garners lavish praises

'Sathyam Sundaram' is the Telugu-dubbed version of the Tamil movie 'Meiyazhagan'. While the Tamil original releases in theatres on Friday, the Telugu version is up for release on Saturday.

An early screening of 'Meiyazhagan' in Chennai has spawned a wave of positive reviews from the Tamil media fraternity. "This is a story about stories: tales of the past, on occasion even stretching back hundreds of years; of family; of childhood. Stories that stir awake forgotten memories, stories that rekindle lost beauty and warmth. I found great pleasure in experiencing the movie," wrote senior review writer Sudhir Srinivasan.

Siddarth Srinivas described the Karthi-Arvind Swami outing as an "emotionally moving and endearing film". He added, "Loved the exceptional first half which is a solid run with great comedy and the emotional scenes which could easily tear you up. The second half has some political commentary and an episodic narrative with nostalgic elements."

The film is directed by C Prem Kumar of '96' fame.
