Indian cinema is set to make history as the upcoming action drama 'Devara' introduces something new in terms of IMAX-formatted action sequences to the big screen. This marks a significant departure from the standard 2.35:1 aspect ratio prevalent in Indian films.

The film's action sequences will be presented in a groundbreaking 1.90:1 IMAX aspect ratio, expanding the image to fill the entire screen and immersing viewers in the heart of the action. This innovative approach is expected to deliver a more dynamic and immersive cinematic experience, as per star cinematographer Rathnavelu.

The cinematography, especially for underwater action sequences, is going to be hair-raising as per the makers. The interval bang action block involves a massacre but it was shot like a "painting".

'Devara' is slated to hit the screens on September 27. Directed by Koratala Siva. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Srikanth, and Prakash Raj. Its music is by Anirudh Ravichander and production design is by Sabu Cyril.
