'Utsavam' is all set to hit the screens on September 13. Mythri Movie Makers is associated with the project as the distributor in Telugu. The Kananda version is backed by 'KGF' and 'Salaar' fame Hombale Films.
Thematically, the film seems to be a coming-of-age romantic family drama led by Dilip Prakash and Regina Cassandra. While the lead actor is unknown, a host of actors around him are well-known. Prakash Raj has a dramatic, full-fledged role. Brahmanandam, his 'Ranga Marthanda' co-star, has a dramatic cameo. Nassar has yet another dramatic role. Rajendra Prasad, too, has a specially crafted role. If you are wondering what the deal about 'dramatic' is, 'Utsavam' is set in the backdrop of a theatre group that is on the verge of a total collapse. Fittingly, the seasoned Brahma Kadali has taken care of the art department.
For all we know, 'Utsavam' has the calibre to become Tollywood's yet another '35-Chinna Katha Kaadu' and 'Committee Kurrollu'. All the three films are content-driven, neat and made for the family audience.
The songs in 'Utsavam' are composed by Anup Rubens, who has adopted a new soundscape. Ananth Sriram, Bhaskarabhatla, and Vanamali have written the lyrics.
