'Coolie', the Rajinikanth-starring action thriller film, is directed by 'Vikram' maker Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures. The film also features Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan and Mahendran.
The news is that Akkineni Nagarjuna has been roped in for a role in the pan-Indian film, which will hit the screens in 2025. "Kicked to have King Nagarjuna sir joining the cast of 'Coolie' as Simon. Welcome on board and wishing you a very happy birthday sir," Lokesh Kanagaraj, also known for movies like 'Leo', tweeted today.
The 'Naa Saami Ranga' actor is excited. "Thank uuuu Loki, I have been wanting to work with you since 'Kaithi'. Absolutely excited for our journey ahead. Looking forward to be sharing screenspace with the Thalaivar!! (sic)," Nag added. 'Kaithi', starring Karthi in the lead, was released in theatres in 2019.
The film is written by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Chandhru Anbazhagan. Its music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
