Niharika Konidela's Sharp Turn: From Comedy to Caste

Niharika Konidela has previously made web series and OTT shows in the digital space. And those subjects targeted youngsters and family audiences who don't want to be punished by serious subjects.

With her maiden feature film, 'Committee Kurrollu', she is entering new territory. While the title of the film can misleadingly make you believe it is a fun-filled buddy comedy, the subject is grave. The story deals with caste-based friction between upper castes and lower castes in a village divided into two halves.

In a scene in the movie, a major character says that a General Category student would get a seat only if his rank in the entrance exam is excellent. Individuals who have been friends for many years part ways owing to caste-based friction in the village.

Starring Sandeep Saroj, Yaswanth Pendyala, Eshwar Rachiraju, Trinadh Varma, Prasad Behara, Manikanta Parasu, Lokesh Kumar Parimi, Shyam Kalyan, Raghuvaran, Shiva Kumar Matta, and Akshay Srinivas, this one also features Raadhya, Tejaswi Rao, Teena Sravya, Vishika, Shanmukhi Nagumanthri. Anudeep Dev is its music director. Directed by Yadhu Vamsi, its cinematography is by Raju Edurolu.
