'Gangs Of Godavari', starring Vishwak Sen in a ferocious role, was released in theatres on May 31. The news is that the period action drama, directed by Krishna Chaitanya, is going to stream on Netflix from June 14.
The film's early streaming has left the audience surprised. On the other hand, the trade segment will continue to be shocked over such short theatre-OTT windows. The usual window is four weeks long. It is getting shortened by two weeks increasingly this year.
The cliched movie has the 'Falaknuma Das' actor in a massy role. The actor's face-off scenes with ruthless villains in the film are impressive because of how he channels his intensity. However, his performance is otherwise flattened by routine staging. Both Neha Shetty and Anjali manage to be different from their usual selves. Nassar and Goparaju Ramana are hackneyed when they are not headless.
The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. His background score and songs failed to enthuse the audience.
