Will 'Kalki 2898 AD' possibly hurt the sentiments of Hindus, considering that it is based on the concept of the arrival of Kalki and the end of Kali Yuga? Any gaffe or blunder in terms of misinterpreting a mythological character in the film could stoke a row.
In his latest interview, director Nag Ashwin addressed the concern. He said that his magnum opus doesn't involve any characters actively worshipped by Hindus. "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process," the 'Mahanati' maker told Deadline.
Nag Ashwin chose a certain backdrop because he wanted the story to have an element of devotion. "I feel any story can be dealt with subjectively without bringing a religious connotation," he added.
'Kalki 2898 AD' is up for a theatrical release on June 27. The film's Trailer will rumouredly drop in the first week of June. Prabhas' fans are super-excited and feel that the mythological sci-fi has the calibre to collect double that of 'Salaar: Ceasefire'.
With music by Santhosh Narayanan, the film has been produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.
