The very title 'Yakshini' has a mythological ring. Yakshinis are a "class of female nature spirits in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain religious mythologies that are different from Devas and Asuras and Gandharvas or Apsaras", says Wikipedia. And the title of an upcoming web series produced by Arka Media Works of 'Baahubali' fame is 'Yakshini'.
Starring Vedhika and Manchu Lakshmi in the lead, the series will soon be available for streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. Producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are yet to announce the release date.
Also featuring Rahul Vijay and Ajay, the show has been directed by Teja Marni of 'Kota Bommali PS' fame. The director has previously helmed 'Arjuna Phalguna' and 'Johar'.
The series will be streamed not only in Telugu but also in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Producer Shobu Yarlagadda is also producing two movies with 'Pushpa' actor Fahadh Faasil. 'Don't Trouble The Trouble' and 'Oxygen' are the titles of those movies. SS Karthikeya, the son of SS Rajamouli, is also associated with the projects.
