'Pratinidhi 2' Short Review: Preposterous screenplay, silly ideas

'Pratinidhi 2' hit the screens this Friday (May 10). While the film was expected to stoke a row because of its perceived anti-YSRCP propaganda, it has turned out to be a damp squib that nobody (including TDP supporters) wants to take seriously.

Writer-director Murthy Devagupthapu casts Nara Rohit in the role of an iconic journalist who is sharper than even the most brilliant minds in the country. He pulls off impossible things just by delivering monologues and through sting operations. The fate of Ministers and the results of prestigious elections depend on what is aired on his newly-floated news channel.

The screenplay's absurdness reaches a new low when a presumed-to-be-dead Chief Minister comes back in a miraculous turn of events. 'Pratinidhi 2' must also be one of the most ludicrous investigative thrillers ever made. The CBI doesn't know how to question the prime suspects in the CM's assassination bid case.

Starring also Sachin Khedekar, Dinesh Tej, Siri Lella, Prudhviraj, Raghu Babu, and others, the film has music by Mahati Swara Sagar.

By now, it is evident that the film is failing to milk the election mania gripping Andhra Pradesh. Hard luck for its makers!
