'Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana' is a mystery crime thriller starring Shiva Kandukuri as a self-made detective. Debutant director Purushottam Raj has wielded the megaphone for the movie. The film will hit the screens on March 1.
In their latest interview, Snehal Jangala and Shashidhar Kasi, the producers, announced the successful closure of pre-release business agreements for their film. "We have secured the OTT deal and sold the US theatrical release rights already. Considering today's circumstances, achieving this for a film of this magnitude is noteworthy," they shared.
The project was kicked off in February 2022. While agreeing that the shoot and post-production did take a full two years, the producers suggest that the wait has been worth it. They add, "When considering why our film deserves to be experienced in theaters, we highlight three key reasons: the narrative, the grandeur, and the arresting viewing experience it promises to deliver."
Shiva Kandukuri was almost the first choice for the lead role. "His character is quite unique. Right from his childhood, he wants to become a detective in his village. The villain, on the other hand, is far bigger than him. That's why only someone with no baggage could have done this part," the producers say.
The film is an investigative crime thriller in the second half. What is so unique about the movie? "The mythological aspect is its biggest USP. We all see the scarecrow (dishti bomma) put up in Indian properties. Nobody knows the actual origin story of this scarecrow," the producers say, adding that their film holds the key to understanding the mythical origins of the scarecrow.
Among others, the makers are counting on Sri Charan Pakala's excellent background score. "We must say he has outdone himself," the producers say.
