The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards (DPIFF) 2024 event has been held. The most prestigious category (read Best Actor) was bagged by Shah Rukh Khan for the 2023 blockbuster 'Jawan'. The film was directed by Atlee. The film's music director, Anirudh, won the Best Music Director Award. Nayanthara won the Best Actress Award for the vigilante action entertainer.
The Best Director Award was bagged by Sandeep Reddy Vanga for 'Animal'. The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer was a massive hit upon its release on December 1 last year. The film also bagged the Best Actor in Negative Role Award (Bobby Deol, who is currently doing films like 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' in Telugu).
The Best Actor (Critics) Award went to Vicky Kaushal for the movie 'Sam Bahadur', while the Best Playback Singer (Male) went to Varun Jain, Tere Vaste (Zara Hatke Zara Bachke).
The Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry Award went to KJ Yesudas. The legendary singer bagging the award has made music lovers happy.
