With a section of the media accusing him of getting a largesse of two acres of land at Horsley Hills, Madanapalle from the Andhra Pradesh government, 'Yatra 2' maker Mahi V Raghav has said that he intends to develop and contribute to the Seema region. He spoke of his sincere and genuine commitment to the region as someone who hails from there.
"I would have asked for a place to build a studio in Hyderabad or Vizag if I was profit-driven," he said. In his latest interview, the producer-director said that he debuted in Telugu cinema way back in 2008. Since then, he has not only wielded the megaphone but has also made films on Moon Water Pictures and Three Autumn Leaves.
"Madanapalle in Seema is my place of birth. Seema is not given importance by anybody in the film industry. Films are hardly shot there. Yet, I went out of my way and shot my films 'Paathasala', the recent 'Yatra 2', 'Siddha Lokamela Undi', and 'Saithaan' in the region," Mahi reminded his critics, adding that he spent Rs 20-25 Cr on three of his projects shot there.
He added that he hasn't sought 50 or 100 acres for the sake of the studio he plans to build in Madanapalle. "I am building a mini studio on only two acres. It would be helpful to those who want to shoot a film or web series and also the locals benefit from these shoots. Basic amenities will be available to do shootings at this place," he reasoned.
