'MAD', one of the few successful youthful comedies in recent times, is all set to be streamed on Netflix starting November 3. The film, directed by newcomer Kalyan Shankar, is produced by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya.
Netflix, which has been laying its hands on almost all major Telugu releases of late, is said to have brought the film for a cool price. So much so, the makers recovered half their investment from the OTT deal itself.
'MAD', which was reviewed by Telugu Vox as a timepass watch, gets its buddy comedy beats right. Keeping the momentum of the first half intact in the second half without getting complacent is among its biggest merits. In the first half, the badminton match episode is used to generate healthy comedy. In the second half, the college fest idea serves a similar purpose. Without undue focus on its romantic tracks and with a dignified treatment of the female characters, the film maintains a cheery tone throughout.
Sangeeth Shoban, Ram Nithin, Narne Nithin, Vishnu Oi, Sri Gouri Priya, Muralidhar Goud and Gopikaa Udyan feature in the film.
