On Wednesday, marking Saif Ali Khan's birthday, a poster was released by the creators of 'Devara'. NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts introduced the villain of the tale in superlative terms. But this superlative-ness was limited to text. It didn't extend to the poster.
The poster was a damp squib. The Jr NTR-starring pan-Indian film has been projected as some sort of emotional saga. Does Saif look like he is the dreadful antagonist of a saga? Many Netizens feel that his look is underwhelming.
They want director Koratala Siva to pull up his socks and do something unique the next time. So far, only posters have been released. And even Janhvi Kapoor doesn't seem to have a uniquely crafted role in 'Devara'. Only Tarak's poster was impressive to a good degree.
If 'Devara' comes out in theatres after 'Pushpa 2', it will have to meet higher than the highest standards. If the 'Acharya' director doesn't do something extraordinarily creative with pre-release material/glimpse videos, the online buzz around 'Devara' will remain muted.
