Bollywood director-writer-producer Vivek Agnihotri today confirmed that his film, 'The Vaccine War', will clash with Prabhas' 'Salaar' on September 28 at the box-office. He made the release date announcement by duly releasing a glimpse video.
This is the second time that a film headlined by Prabhas is going to collide with a Vivek Agnihotri directorial. In March 2022, 'Radhe Shyam' and 'The Kashmir Files' were released on the same day. The victory belonged to the latter. Vivek's film crushed the Hindi version of Prabhas' jaded period romantic drama.
Both 'Salaar' and 'The Vaccine War' are going to be multi-lingual releases on September 28. While Prabhas' outing will get a very good share of theatres in Hindi, Vivek's film will have to struggle to find theatres for the Telugu version in the Telugu States owing to the competition. So, 'Salaar' is going to be the clear winner in Telugu.
What about the Hindi belt? 'Salaar' is directed by 'KGF' fame Prashanth Neel and is an out-and-out spectacle drama with loads of action. If 'The Vaccine War' adopts a documentary-style approach ('The Kashmir Files' had boring stretches, to be sure), it won't stand a chance against Prabhas' film even in Hindi.
