'Virupaksha', which hit the screens on April 21, grossed more than Rs 100 Cr at the box-office. Producers BVSN Prasad and Sukumar have once again teamed up for a follow-up project. Although its title is not yet finalized, the film will be a mythical thriller ('Virupaksha' was a horror thriller with mystical and supernatural elements).
"Get ready to believe in the unbelievable, this time it’s a MYTHICAL THRILLER (sic)," Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings tweeted today. Starting today, pre-production works have commenced.
Karthik Dandu, who directed 'Virupaksha', is back in the director's seat. When Dandu wrote the story of 'Virupaksha', the villain was Parvati (played by Shyamala). Sukumar re-wrote the storyline and made Nandini (Samyuktha) the antagonist. The director created a sensation at the Telugu box-office thanks to the twist and other elements, including the screenplay (written by the 'Pushpa' director himself).
Meanwhile, producer BVSN Prasad is planning to release Varun Tej's 'Gandeevadhaari Arjuna' on August 25. It is directed by Praveen Sattaru.
