Many are of the view that Atlee has written a women's empowerment angle into the story. A few shots in the glimpse video suggest that there are traces of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Bigil' in the story. A Netizen wrote that the film looks like a mishmash of Nani's 'Gang Leader' and Ajith's 'Valimai'.
An interesting observation came from a Twitter user who feels that Deepika Padukone's brief appearance in the movie could be a hat tip to Vijay's character in 'Bigil'.
