'Shaakuntalam' is the biggest jolt in Dil Raju's career. The Samantha-starrer, which hit the screens in April this year, is believed to have spelled losses to the tune of Rs 30 Cr for him. Raju himself commented that the epic outing is the biggest jolt in his career.
Recently, Dil Raju opted out of the distribution of 'Adipurush'. He was speculated to be considering distributing Prabhas' movie in Nizam. Probably, he changed his opinion for the following reason.
Dil Raju reconsidered his decision after the bitter 'Shaakuntalam' experience, although the decision became known to the world only weeks after he made it. Raju believed that the Samantha-Gunasekhar movie will be loved for its visuals and VFX. When the movie was released in theatres, he was taken aback by the aggressive trolling. As someone who learns lessons faster than others, Raju understood that people are uncompromising when it comes to visuals and VFX. That's why he didn't want to take chances with 'Adipurush', which looked lackustre owing to its teaser.
Of course, there could also be another explanation. Raju wanted to buy the movie when UV Creations was at the helm. After People Media Factory came in, he opted out of the project because the new player preferred Mythri Movie Makers.
Any which way you look at it, Dil Raju got saved!
