'Pathaan' (Hindi) remains one of the biggest Indian films ever in terms of box-office collections. Not many remember that the movie's release was preceded by literally zero interviews by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The lack of promotional interviews didn't make a dent in the action thriller's commercial prospects.
Ahead of 'Adipurush', there are no promotional interviews by Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and director Om Raut. Before the release of 'Saaho' and 'Radhe Shyam', Prabhas gave a series of interviews. His quotes were widely publicized by the media.
Cut to 2023, the run-up to the release of 'Adipurush' is witnessing zero bytes. Where is Prabhas, who was supposed to answer questions about his shooting experience? Where is director Om Raut, who was supposed to defensively talk about the quality of VFX? Where is Kriti Sanon, who was supposed to field questions about her suitability to play Goddess Sita?
Journalists must have planned a lot of controversial questions. But, much to the media's disappointment, Prabhas and Co are not giving promotional interviews.
Despite the lack of interviews (most YouTube videos featuring Prabhas would have generated lakhs of views easily), the advance bookings for 'Adipurush' are superb. Does it remind you of the 'Pathaan' parallel? You are not alone!
