Tollywood and drugs are not anything new. Earlier, many popular names from Tollywood were heard in a drug case, including Charmee Kaur, Puri Jagannath, Navdeep, Ravi Teja, Subbaraju, Tanish, and others.
Another Tollywood producer, KP Chowdhury, known for films like Kabali and more, was arrested by the Cyberabad police in possession of a huge quantity of cocaine weighing 82.75 grammes.
He was apprehended by the Special Operations Team while he was leaving his home in Kismatpur, near Rajendranagar, with 90 sachets of cocaine. Investigations revealed that he had purchased 100 sachets of cocaine in Goa. It is believed that the producer might have sold some and consumed some. Chowdhury was detained following an inquiry into an earlier case unearthed by Cyberabad police and the discovery of 300 grammes of cocaine a month ago, according to authorities.
