Nandamuri Balakrishna has got a new moniker now. 'God Of Masses' is passe. It's a new year and someone thought he deserves a fresh title.
And they are now calling him 'Global Lion'. The word 'Simha' (and its variation 'Simham') has been used to describe the 'Akhanda' actor's onscreen persona for at least two decades now. But the title 'Global Lion' is something nobody saw coming.
Netizens are giving a range of reactions. "The very term 'Global Lion' sounds too bombastic. Ram Charan's title 'Global Star' is already outlandish. What is this obsession with the word 'Global'?" a Twitter user asked.
With Charan and Balayya both opting for 'Global', it is only a matter of time before a few other heroes think of something pompous on similar lines.
Meanwhile, Balayya is headed to celebrate his birthday on June 10. The title of his 108th movie will be revealed on June 8 in 108 locations across the world. 'Bhagavanth Kesari' is the title. The film, directed by Anil Ravipudi, will hit the screens for Dasara.
