Siddharth is over-estimating himself!

Siddharth was recently in Hyderabad to promote 'Takkar', to be released in theatres on June 9. During one of his interviews, the actor claimed that the maximum popularity he has got is in the Telugu States. He also added that his special appearances on TV shows garner very good TRPs. The 'Oh My Friend' star further said that people will enthusiastically gather at any centre he might visit in the Telugu States.

Siddharth owes everything to that one classic: 'Bommarillu'. And that film was released in 2006. Since then, the actor has failed to maintain the momentum. While he is popular enough among the Telugus, he has clearly lost his stardom.

'Maha Samudram', despite all the hype, didn't do well in 2022. That was possibly the biggest hope Sid had in years to bounce back in Telugu. Its fate proved that everyone associated with it over-estimated themselves.

'Takkar' looks more like a dubbed movie. If Sid's self-assessment is true, it must garner decent openings, given the genre and the commercial trailer. There is no major competitor as well. If it loses the race, Sid's belief that he is very much adored in the Telugu States is going to fall flat on its face.
