Mahi V Raghav recently created 'Save The Tigers' for Disney + Hotstar. The comedy show was directed by Teja Kakumanu and was about male victimhood.
This time, the 'Yatra' director has created an out-and-out blood-soaked, revenge-driven, action thriller titled 'Shaitan'. The dark thriller will stream on the same platform from June 15. Its trailer, filled with shocking visuals and a no-holds-barred use of cuss words, is out.
"Knock, knock, let the DEVIL in! (sic)," the makers tweeted, sharing the trailer. "What you call crime, they call survival," the trailer says at the beginning. Women refer to the Telugu equivalent of male genitalia in angry scenes. Even when the moment appears to be erotic on the face of it, the underlying theme is that of violence.
Co-starring Rishi, Shelly, Ravi Kale (recently seen in 'Ahimsa'), Deviyani, Jaffer Sadiq, Lenaa, Nithin Prasanna, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Manikandan, Ravi Kumar, Aneesha Dama and Sanjay Krishna, the show opts the path of graphic violence with rousing scenes.
Shanmuga Sundaram and Shravan Katikaneni, respectively, are its director of photography and editor. The production design is by Rajkumar Murugesan. Sriram Muddury is its music director.
