Kota Srinivas Rao has spoken out against the practice of talking about remunerations publicly. The veteran actor feels that today's actors need to follow the example set by NTR, ANR and Krishna, who never disclosed their remunerations.
For those who are not aware, Pawan Kalyan recently stated that he minted Rs 2 Cr per day for doing 'BRO'.
A section of Netizens is of the view that such public statements have to be encouraged in the interest of transparency. A lot of Bollywood actors get featured in international magazines like Forbes because they disclose their earnings. If you are talking about your fees openly, it means that corporate culture is gaining ground in the film industry, which is a net positive. Exploitation, secrecy and other negatives will disappear if corporatization is encouraged.
Probably, Pawan could talk about his remuneration for 'BRO' because the film's banner, People Media Factory, is a corporate player. May be, the banner didn't mind the Jana Sena Party chief disclosing his fees because of the nature of its operations.
At the recent India Today South Conclave, Kamal Haasan said that 'Vikram' is the biggest hit in the history of Tamil cinema. If such statements are not wrong, what is wrong with actors talking about remunerations?
