'Malli Pelli' is slated to be released in theatres on May 26. Less than 24 hours before its release, VK Naresh's estranged wife Ramya Raghupathi approached the Kukatpally Family Court, urging it to stall the film's release.
So, what is her interest in wanting to stall the film? As per Ramya Raghupathi, 'Malli Pelli' attempts to tarnish her reputation.
In fact, the lawsuit was expected ever since the film's teaser was released. It became more apparent after the trailer was released. Vanitha Vijaykumar's character in 'Malli Pelli' is undoubtedly fashioned after Ramya. She has apparently been portrayed in a poor light in the movie.
Anticipating legal troubles, Naresh, who is the hero and producer of the movie, has maintained that it is for the audience to watch and decide if the film is about his life. Pavitra Lokesh asked, "Who is Ramya?", when she was quizzed about Vanitha's character.
Naresh and Pavitra, the real-life couple, are expecting 'Malli Pelli' to effectively present their case. Ramya's petition, if taken seriously by the court, might result in some legal issues in the short run. Watch this space!
