American economist Thomas Sowell is someone Pawan Kalyan admires. Today, the Jana Sena chief took to Twitter and quote-tweeted a Sowell tweet. "The great escape of our times is the escape from personal responsibility for the consequences of one’s own behavior," the quote by Sowell says.
Endorsing his views, the actor-politician wrote, "Economist and Social Theorist Thomas Sowell’s observations and insights on society will leave a significant impact on his readers. It shatters all preconceived notions of many issues. But it needs a lot of open-mindednesses to see the truth and to accept what he proposes and says."
If the words of the 'BRO' actor are anything to go by, he believes he has digested Sowell quite intensely. But Sowell's views can't be followed by Indian politicians who want to come to power. Sowell is opposed to several socialist policies. His views would be amenable to someone like Lok Satta founder Jayaprakash Narayan.
Moreover, Sowell's quote endorsed today by Pawan Kalyan is against the political positions of populist politicians in the contemporary US. The Jana Sena chief seems to have interpreted the quote the way he wants to - in a generic context.
