Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has claimed that speaking for Hinduism has resulted in losses to the tune of crores of rupees in her case. On Wednesday, the 'Queen' actress stated that her statements/comments against certain politicians and "anti-nationals" made more than two dozen brands ditch her. As a result, she has been losing about Rs 30-40 Cr year after year.
Not only brands, but some Bollywood projects abandoned her, she claimed. "This is character, true freedom and success, speaking for Hinduism, against politicians, anti-nationals and the Tukde gang cost me 20-25 brand endorsements. They dropped me overnight and that amounted to a loss of Rs 30-40 Cr per year," Kangana has been quoted as saying.
But the actress is dishonest in playing the victim. She became controversial a few years ago. Her rants on Twitter became so toxic that she was banned by the social media platform when she almost described protesting farmers as terrorists.
Brands would any day prefer non-controversial celebs. Kangana should have controlled her tongue while espousing her political ideology. Had she been civil in her discourse, she would not have been ditched by brands.
