Famous writer Vijayendra Prasad, father of director Rajamouli, has suggested that the award committee consider creating two categories specifically for films of Telangana origin. He believes that this will encourage Telangana films to reach new heights. Vijayendra also proposed that the Telangana government should offer cash incentives to films produced almost entirely within the state.
Taking inspiration from the movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which increased tourism to Switzerland after showcasing the country's beauty, Vijayendra suggests applying a similar formula to Telangana by offering cash incentives to films that highlight the state's cultural atmosphere. However, there has been criticism that the government is not doing enough to support film talent in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. His suggestion that special Nandi awards should be instituted for promoting Telangana cinema is noteworthy and many are hoping that KCR will definitely take a call sooner.
