Krishna, the renowned costume designer, is a name that evokes a sense of nostalgia in the film industry. Although many know him as an actor, he is much more than that; he is a seasoned professional with experience as a producer as well. However, some argue that the title of 'producer' is what led to his downfall.
Krishna's life took a turn for the worse after producing the film 'Pellipandiri.' The movie's failure financially crippled him, forcing him to leave the industry. Prior to this, Krishna had a good life and was known for designing costumes for famous actors such as NTR, ANR, and Chiranjeevi.
Krishna's downfall began when he produced 'Pellipandiri,' starring Jagapathi Babu. Although Babu wanted to promote the film, Krishna believed that word-of-mouth publicity would suffice. However, some of Krishna's acquaintances disagreed with this decision and suggested spending 2 lakh rupees on publicity, which Babu agreed to.
Krishna signed two documents without reading them, which ultimately became his downfall. The first document stated that he had taken a loan of 2 lakhs, which seemed reasonable. However, the second document transferred all the negative rights of the movie to the buyers, bearing Krishna's signature. When Krishna discovered this, he was devastated and felt betrayed by those he trusted.
Krishna left the industry in pain, as he could not recover from the losses he suffered due to the film's failure. He had to sell his properties and move to an apartment in Chennai, where he spent the rest of his life away from the film industry.
Despite his misfortune, Krishna's contribution to the film industry as a costume designer cannot be forgotten. He worked as a costume designer at Ramanaidu Studios, designing costumes for many famous actors. He later ventured into acting and made his mark as an artist with his distinctive voice.
