The cute smile queen Samantha's upcoming film "Shaakuntalam '' has changed its release date multiple times to avoid clashing with other big films. Finally, the director Gunasekhar and production partner Dil Raju have decided to release the film on April 14. However, another big film, PS 2, is set to release at the end of April, so the makers of Shaakuntalam plan to capitalize on the earlier release date before the competition arrives.
Despite the chosen release date, Shaakuntalam is still facing threats from two Tamil movies that will also be released in Telugu. Lawrence's mass action drama "Rudrudu" has a decent following in Telugu due to his successful "Kanchana" series. Though Lawrence's over-the-top comedy is often criticized, his movies have performed well in Telugu in the past.
Additionally, Vijay Anthony's "Bichagadu 2," his first big hit sequel, is also releasing on April 14. While it may not have as much hype, the unpredictable release time of Bichagadu 2 cannot be underestimated.
Unfortunately for Shaakuntalam, they have no option but to compete with these two dubbed films. Furthermore, Nikhil's "Spy," which was initially set to release on April 14, has backed out due to the rush of films on that date.
