Anurag Kashyap Joins the Ranks of Megastar Chiranjeevi & Bobby Kolli’s Mega Actioner ‘Kaaka’
Following the monumental box-office triumph of Waltair Veerayya, the explosive combination of Megastar Chiranjeevi and commercial hitmaker Bobby Kolli has reunited for ‘Kaaka’. Backed lavishly by producer Venkat K. Narayana under the prestigious KVN Productions banner, the project has now pulled off a major casting coup by bringing acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap on board for a key role.
The makers made the official announcement today, sharing an engaging behind-the-scenes still from the set where director Bobby Kolli is seen briefing Anurag Kashyap, who is locked in sharp focus absorbing the narrative nuances.
High-Profile Shoot Progressing in Hyderabad
The regular filming of Kaaka is currently underway at a brisk pace in Hyderabad, with Anurag Kashyap actively participating in the ongoing schedule alongside the lead cast. Known for bringing intense grit and gravitas to the screen—evident in films like Imaikkaa Nodigal, Leo, and Maharaja—Kashyap’s inclusion injects fresh dynamic friction into the high-voltage entertainer.
The film's pre-release buzz caught fire earlier this year with the release of the title teaser on Chiranjeevi's birthday, which hinted at the Megastar donning two strikingly contrasting shades.
Adding emotional resonance to the core storyline, talented young actress Anaswara Rajan plays a central role. Described by the makers as the "Heart of Kaaka," her character was introduced as Ammulu Paapa through a heartfelt first-look poster on her birthday.
Formidable Technical & Writing Crew
KVN Productions is mounting the film with top-tier technical standards:
-
Music: S. Thaman delivers the soundtrack and background score.
-
Cinematography: Vijay Karthik Kannan captures the large-scale visual palette.
-
Production Design & Editing: Art directed by Avinash Kolla, with sharp cuts handled by editor Antony L. Ruben.
-
Writing Department: Screenplay crafted by Kona Venkat and K. Chakravarthy Reddy, supported by additional writing from Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri, with razor-sharp dialogues penned by Bhanu-Nandu.
Locked for Sankranthi Festive Carnival
With the team working on a meticulous production schedule, Kaaka has officially locked its worldwide theatrical arrival for January 13, 2027, aiming to set the box office on fire during the lucrative Sankranthi festive corridor.
